A report of a shooting at a home in the 21000 block of Western
Boulevard came in around 5:30 p.m., according to Hayward police Sgt. Eric
Melendez.

When police arrived they found a victim who had shot and killed
Olachea, a 25-year-old Oakland resident, who had allegedly broken into the
home, Melendez said.

The victim told police he and a friend were at home when at least three suspects attempted to invade the house, Melendez said.

The victim then shot Olachea and a female suspect. Another suspect got away and has only been described as a Hispanic female with a thin build and curly hair, Melendez said.

She remains at large, he said.

Olachea was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the coroner's office he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Later that evening, one of the female suspects showed up at an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was in critical condition, Melendez said.

She remains hospitalized today and is not in police custody, according to Melendez.

Her name is not being released, he said.
