Castro Valley Teen Lying on Road Critically Injured After Being Hit By Truck

The teen's name has not yet been released.

A 16-year-old Castro Valley resident was critically injured this morning after he was run over by a truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
 
The teen's identity has not been released. Investigators said the teen was lying on Lake Chabot Road when a Chevrolet pickup truck ran him over just before 3 a.m.

The driver, a Castro Valley resident, stopped and remained at the scene.
 
Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor in the crash, according to the CHP. Investigators are still looking into why the teen was lying in the roadway.
