Brush Fire Near Eden Canyon Road Contained
Blaze a reminder that heat and dry conditions create a tinderbox.
Bay City News A half-acre brush fire was contained along the side of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 near Castro Valley this afternoon, an Alameda County fire spokeswoman said.
The roadside fire near Eden Canyon Road was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 4:36 p.m.

Alameda County fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said the fire had been contained around 5:15 p.m.
