Arrests in Castro Valley between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2.

Sunday, Oct. 2

  • 1:13 a.m.: A 24-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving while under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on the corner of Parkway and San Carlos Avenue.
  • 2:30 a.m.: A 22-year-old Mountain House woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence (DUI). She was arrested at Dominic Road and Lake Crest Court.
  • 8:04 p.m.: A 27-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property and petty theft. He was arrested on the 2100 block of Earl Drive.
  • 9:04 p.m.: A 29-year-old Castro Valley woman was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property and petty theft. She was arrested on the 2100 block of Earl Drive.

Saturday, Oct. 1

  • 6:36 p.m.: A 61-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, destruction of a utility line, battery, and resisting arrest. He was arrested on the 16800 block of Hallmark Court.
  • 11:20 p.m.: A 18-year-old Hayward man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on the Castro Valley Boulevard.

Friday, Sept. 30

  • 2:09 a.m.: A 27-year-old Hayward man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. A 25-year-old Hayward man was also arrested on suspicion of burglary. They were arrested on the 20600 block of Redwood Road.

Thursday, Sept. 29

  • 9:15 a.m.: A 24-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on the corner of Columbia Drive and Thousand Oaks Drive.
  • 2:45 p.m.: A 23-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of vandalism. He was arrested on the 18900 block of Redwood Road.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

  • Time unknown: A 23-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threatening, and violating probation. He was arrested on the 19400 block of Santa Maria Avenue.
  • 8:15 a.m.: A 37-year-old transient man was arrested on warrants for driving while under the influence (DUI) and driving while privilege revoked/suspended. He was arrested on the 3100 block of Francis Court.
  • 11:39 a.m.: A 22-year-old Castro Valley man was arrested on warrants for assault with a deadly weapon and violating a domestic violence order, but also on suspicion of resisting arrest. He was arrested on the 18600 block of Cavendish Drive.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

  • 11:45 a.m.: A 44-year-old Oakland man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested on the 2400 block of McLoud Avenue.

Monday, Sept. 26

  • 1:19 a.m.: A 27-year-old Antioch man was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on the corner of Redwood Road and Lessley Avenue. 
  • 9:38 a.m.: A 50-year-old Castro Valley woman was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on the 18200 block of Lamson Road.
  • 10:59 p.m.: A 31-year-old San Leandro man was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on the corner of Anita Avenue and Castro Valley Boulevard.

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.

was on my father's laptop and he zooms his screen to 125...didn't need to keep bumping the pageRead More right and left, kinda liked it then.
