'All Smiles' for Child Rescued by Firefighters

Two children had been trapped in the backseat of a car after a collision in Castro Valley on Jan. 24.

The Alameda County Fire Department posted a touching photo and status update on their Facebook page this week after two children who had been trapped inside a crashed car were rescued by fire personnel.

The following information is from Alameda County Fire Department Facebook page:

All smiles in #CastroValley: On Friday, January 24th at 7:46PM, Engine 6, Truck 25, Rescue 24 and Battalion 4 responded to a report of a vehicle into a building with children trapped inside of the vehicle on Mantor Court. Firefighters arrived to find the vehicle wedged between a retaining wall and the fireplace of a residence. With two children located in the back seat of the car, firefighters stabilized the vehicle and removed both kids from the back seat. Thankfully no one was injured!
