Alameda County CHP Increases Patrols This Labor Day Weekend

CHP officers from Castro Valley, Dublin, Hayward and Oakland will flood the freeways from Friday night and continuing through Monday.

From Avoid the 21 — Law Enforecement in Alameda County

Officers from the Castro Valley, Dublin, Hayward and Oakland area commands of the CHP will be on high alert for impaired, reckless and irresponsible drivers over the Labor Day weekend.

Black-and-white cruisers will flood the freeways from Friday night and continuing through Monday.

Law enforcement officials from all over Alameda County urge the driving public to phone in any dangerous drivers by dialing 911 on their cell phones, said Lt. Ava Garavatti of the Livermore police, Avoid the 21 coordinator.

“We take those calls very seriously,” she said. “We’ll dispatch an officer out to pull the car over. We appreciate all the help we can get in getting them off the road.”

Avoid the 21 ends its 18-day summer mobilization on Monday at midnight. The California Office of Traffic Safety funds it through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
