3 Injured in 2 Shootings in Hayward

Police believe the shootings are not related to each other and all three victims are expected to survive.

Three men were injured in two separate shootings in Hayward early Saturday morning, a police lieutenant said.

The first shooting occurred in the 27000 block of Verona Avenue and left two men wounded, according to Hayward police Lt. Eric Krimm. Both men were taken to hospitals with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Another man inside an apartment in the 22000 block of South Garden Avenue was shot when someone fired into the home around 3:30 a.m., Krimm said. No other injuries were reported.

That victim was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said. Krimm said he did not have suspect information in connection with either shooting. The two shootings do not appear to be related, he said.

Both incidents are under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Hayward police at (510) 293-7000.
