Everyone knows someone who has or had cancer. I hear at least weekly of family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances or friends and families of them, being diagnosed with this nasty disease. The disease does not discriminate against race, age or sex. It affects everyone and at any time.We have a choice that is very easy... to sit back and hope that the magic bullet for it will soon be discovered and it will be irradicated before we are directly impacted. Or, we can get up and fight back so that those you are currently battling the disease will have services provided to them to make the fight a little bit easier. To help fund research for drugs that may well be the magic bullet.
Everyone is invited to the Castro Valley Relay for Life Kickoff on Saturday, March 9th from 1 - 3 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 2490 Grove Way. It will be a carnival themed event with games, raffles and prizes. Face painting for the kids and free food.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event. Come and find out more about it, get involved and help us fight this disease. So that more people can celebrate more birthdays.
