Please bring back the small Italian resturant Stazzio? Sorry about the spelling, but it had great food. It used to be where the new Eden Medical building is.

We already have a couple of computer repair shops in Castro Valley. Here's another case of a Castro Valley resident not looking to see what we already have here. My wife and I constantly lament the demise if Sazio Ristorante. It was probably one of the best restaurants in Castro Valley in recent years. Ressurecting Sazio would take a miracle. We see one of the former owners, Antonio Fillari, occasionally. He is now working as a waiter at Incontro Ristorante in Danville. Tony Principati, the outstanding singing chef was last seen somewhere in Sacramento. Internal strife combined with the hospital purchasing the property led to it's closing after 18 years of excellent operation. Oddly, even though it was usually quite busy, because of its physical location at the back of the parking lot (and lack of a readily visible sign), even though it was on busy Lake Chabot Road, many people that passed it every day didn't know it was there. It was unique place and is sorely missed by many of us. We have not found another Italian restaurant that even approaches it for the combination of atmosphere (there really wasn't any) and quality of food.

I always forgot about Sazio because of the very reason pointed out.......not visible.....guess I missed out on some delicious dinners......I went a few times when it first opened years ago, but then, out of sight, out of mind......darn.
