Nourish & Flourish San Lorenzo Event This Saturday

March 10 workshop is about seasonal local food


The Ashland Cherryland Garden and Arts Network will sponsor a workshop about seasonal, local food Saturday, March 10 at 11 a.m. at 1601 165th Avenue San Lorenzo.

It is the third in the network's Nourish: Food & Community workshops and will feature student "Chef Markus".

The event will begin with an informative video and then attendees will move to a garden and share a seasonal local lunch prepared by the chef. There will be a discussion about local food including the challenges of eating locally and its benefits to health, the economy and the environment.

Participants will receive a re-usable farmer's market bag that is pre-stuffed with some healthy bonus gifts as well as pocket cash for the group's trip to the Farmer’s Market after lunch.

The group will be able to chat with local farmers too.

The ACGAN Nourish workshop is made possible with the support of the  Mandela Foods Cooperative, and the  Mandela Marketplace .
