Castro Valley's Fall Festival on Norbridge Avenue brings food trucks, a Farmers' Market and an extra performance stage this year.

This year's Castro Valley Fall Festival will be celebrating its 40th year with several new additions including food trucks, a Farmers' Market and an extra performance stage.

The two-day festival on Sept. 8 and 9 draws folks throughout Castro Valley and surrounding cities to enjoy more than 150 arts and crafts, community and non-profit booths set up along Norbridge Avenue between Redwood Road and Castro Valley Boulevard.

Local wineries are also available to accompany the food booths and food trucks expected at this year's event. A total of ten food trucks that are part of Fremont's Food Truck Mafia will roll into the according to Mel Speed, director of special events for the .

For entertainers, a smaller stage will be added in the parking lot for solo performers. Two larger stages will hold performances from students at local dance and karate studios. The main stage is on the corner of Redwood Road and Norbridge Avenue, where bands will play at.

On Saturday only, the will be held at the parking lot in conjunciton with the Car Show. Proceeds collected from the Car Show will be donated to the Chamber of Commerce and the Auto Technology program at the Eden Area Regional Occupational Program in Hayward.

This will be the second year the festival will be held along Norbridge Avenue due to . However, Speed says many folks seem to like the new location of the festival.

"I had about two merchants in the entire community say they want to see it come back to the Boulevard," Speed said. "I think this is going to be our new and final home for the Fall Festival," he added.

The festival, held Sept. 8 and 9 will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days.

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
