In light of being tied together as Castro Valley Patch bloggers, the team, dubbed Chili Patch, will be sporting signature green Patch t-shirts at the event. But our uniforms aren't the only thing that'll be green.
Our booth will be decked out with "green" products from Diaz' store, Restore & Rework. All items, found at Bay Area flea markets, estate and garage sales, swap meets and salvage yards, for resale.
We don't want to give too much away before the big event, but let's just say we're hoping to make our competitors green with envy over our delicious chili!
We will have a chance to place either first, second or third in "Best Chili" and can potentially win $500, $200 or $100. Or we can also win "Best Decorated Booth" and receive $100.
As much as we'd like to win the title of "Best Chili", we're also eager to give back and donate our winnings to organizations that are meaningful to each one of our bloggers:
- Susan G. Komen for the Cure (breast cancer)
- Save Our Schools Castro Valley! (SOSCV!)
- Eden Area Regional Occupational Program (Eden ROP)
- Ashland Little League
- Castro Valley High School Athletic Boosters
However, we want you, the readers, to help in deciding which one to pick in the end.
Vote for your favorite in the poll listed below. We will donate the money to whichever one has the most votes on May 11... that is, if we win!
