Castro Valley Girl Scouts Earn Girl Scout Silver Award

Girl Scouts give 440 hours of community service to Castro Valley

On Sunday, February 12, 2012, eight members of Girl Scout Troop 30711 were honored at a special Ceremony and Reception for earning the highest award possible as Cadette Girl Scouts, the Silver Award. 

The three projects that were completed were educating the public on Overpopulation of Feral Cats, organizing and distributing Thanksgiving Food Baskets which fed 215 families in the community, and the Let's Move Project which educated the public about obesity and the importance of being fit.

The girl contributed a combined total of 440 hours to their community in planning and executing their projects. 

Those girls earning the Silver Award (pictured L to R  Back to Front Row) are:  Rachel Zunino, Kaitlin Suchanek, Nina Bessolo, Brenda Flores-Reyes, Michelle Titus, Angel Langworthy, Rebekah Fesmire, and Sarah Michel.
