The American Red Cross will hold a public blood drive at Saint Joachim's Catholic Church, church hall, December 27 from 2 to 7 p.m.

Drives such as this one are critical at this time of year when more blood than usual is needed by accident and trauma victims. Blood donated is given not only to people suffering injuries but premature babies and patients being treated for cancer and other life-threatening ailments. It is estimated that one donation may help save the lives of up to three people.
