League of Women Voters Eden Area Annual Meeting

An update on the Juvenile Justice System in Alameda County is the topic for the program featured at the League of Women Voters Eden Area's annual meeting on June 11.

A League business meeting will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., and then two expert speakers in the field will make presentations and take questions on the operation of the Juvenile Justice system
in the face of State budget cuts. The first speaker is David Muhammad who is the newly appointed Alameda County Chief Probation Officer.  The second speaker is Paula Barber, the Executive Director, Center for Family Counseling.

During the League business portion, there will be an election for new officers and directors for 2011-2012 and a review of important issues that the League will consider for education and/or advocacy.
