Community Corner

On Saturday: Boy Scout Troop 708 e-Waste Drive

Hello, Castro Valley!  Troop 708 is holding an e-Waste fundraiser in the rear parking lot of First Presbyterian Church of Hayward (behind Trader Joe's) at the corner of Redwood and Grove.

Troop 708 has been serving the Castro Valley Community for over 55 years.  Come on down the 27th and support the boys!

As the flyer indicates, most things with screens (TV's, monitors, flat screens, laptops, cell phones) have no recycling fee.  Things like PC towers, VCR's, CD players, Microwave ovens, etc, have a recycling fee starting at $5.00.  All items are kept out of landfills and recycled responsibly  and locally in accordance with California State Law.

We are also offering a new service, Document Shredding!  $9.00 for the 1st box, $7.00 for each additional box. A certificate of document destruction will be issued when the documents are destroyed.   By weight, this service is 50%-60% less than at other shredding providers.

If you have any questions, please contact Tom Dooher at 510-303-0471, or at firstegg@aol.com. If emailing,  put e-Waste in the subject line.
