Award-Winning Local Chorus to Perform at Danville Variety Show

A variety show set in the heyday of the 1920s through1940s. Lots of fun, lots of laughs! A show for the whole family.

The Harmony Fusion Chorus of Sweet Adelines is fortunate to have two sets of sisters that come together once a week to do what they love: singing and performing with other women on the risers.

Harmony Fusion has the pleasure of introducing Debbie Nunn and her sister, Billie Harris. Debbie has been a member of Sweet Adelines for over 30 years. Billie retired and needed something fun in her life, so Debbie suggested singing.

They have now been singing and traveling together as “sisters in harmony” for the past six years. Whenever there’s a “singing” convention in town or out of town, or just a local performance for the chorus, they are always each other’s company.

Debbie sings bass and Billie sings lead (melody). Debbie makes her home in San Lorenzo and Billie lives in Hayward.

The other set of sisters is the “Boles Sisters”, Jean Marie and LeeAnne. Jean Marie sings baritone and Lee Anne sings lead (melody). The twins are from a long history of “barbershoppers” .

Their history goes back to Idaho with their grandmother andgrandfather on their mother’s side. Their grandmother was a Sweet Adeline and their grandfather a barbershopper. The love of four-part a cappella singing migrated to California when Jean Marie and LeeAnne’s mother sang in the San Lorenzo chapter of Sweet Adelines, the “Belles of Eden”.

Their father is currently singing with the San Lorenzo chapter of the men’s barbershopsociety, the New Dimension Chorus. LeeAnne and Jean Marie live in Hayward.

All the sisters, Debbie, Billie, Jean Marie and LeeAnne along with the entire cast of 36-plus members of Harmony Fusion Chorus will present a variety show, “Return to Vaudeville”, on Sept. 29, 2012, at the Danville Village Theater, 233 Front St., Danville.

This award winning chorus will perform a variety of selections including traditional barbershop in the Vaudeville heyday 1920’s to 1940’s. Many performers singing various songs including “Me and My Shadow”, “Take Me Out to The Ball Game”, etc.

On the guest list is a men’s quartet, Velocity”, a double quartet, “Sisters A Chord” and one of our many featured guest performers will be Daniel DaVinci/The Juggling Genius.

There will be a steady flow of comedy routines thoughout the show. The varied program will make this an ideal afternoon or evening for the whole family.

If CV is great, and I am not disputing that fact, why would you want to change it's nature?Read More Wouldn't that change the very things that you are trying to protect and preserve?

You can't compare Castro Valley with Menlo Park. Menlo Park is on the edge of Silicon Valley and hasRead More much more income per capita than Castro Valley could ever hope to have. Certainly the county is a lousy and unfair administrator, but we can at least afford them (somewhat). It is extremely unlikely that we could support a city unless you lie a lot about our finances like the incorporation proponents did during the last election.

Thank you for sharing this. I am moved by your courage to be honest with yourself about what youRead More want for your daughter and your willingness to give her up so she can have what she needs in this life. Also giving parents and opportunity to be parents who can't have kids of their own. This touches my heart. <3
