Long, Lean & Limber with Megan King

A dynamic, interesting and fun romp that allows you to explore your body in 360 degrees of movement. This class takes from pilates, dance, calisthenics and martial arts offering you a full spectrum of how your whole body can be used more efficiently. Core work deepens our awareness in how we move and from where, stretching releases, challenges and hones in on muscle groups, and conditioning tones, firms and strengthens the major and accessory muscle groups that we use in yoga as well as every day activity. This is a great class for those who want to get in shape, build strength and become more graceful and integrated.

Instructor Megan King began teaching yoga after years of leading fitness classes to groups and individuals. In January of 2009 Megan graduated from Yoga Works Teacher Training and has since added Pilates, Belly Dance and body tuning to her list of trainings. It is through this diverse background that she is able to offer a comprehensive style of teaching and a unique way of assisting students into a more pain free existence though proper muscle recruitment, joint stabilization, range of motion and tension release. Megan recently relocated to the Bay Area from New York, where she taught at the Omega Institute from 2007-2012, and was assistant director and teacher at Shambala Yoga Center from 2009-2012, both in upstate New York. In 2010 she spent a month teaching at the Yoga House in Costa Rica.
