According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of Health Information Technicians is projected to grow much faster than the average occupation in coming years, with an expected 20% increase through 2018. This course will examine the widespread use of electronic health records (EHR) as medical practices transition away from paper-based systems.
Students will also explore the fundamental demand for diagnostic tests, medical treatment and procedures; a result of the aging baby boomer population.
