Where Do You Fill Up In Castro Valley When Gas Prices Shoot Up?

Pump prices in the East Bay have risen 58 cents per gallon the past month. Where do you fill up?

Now that gasoline has jumped more than a half dollar a gallon, is there a station you've found in the Castro Valley and San Lorenzo areas that isn't as expensive as the others?

Let us know in the comments. Your neighbors will appreciate it.

The commute page on Castro Valley Patch shows an array of prices around town. A cheap price can be difficult to find.

In California, gasoline prices have risen 57 cents per gallon the past month to an average of $4.22 for a gallon of regular unleaded.

In the East Bay, gas prices have increased 58 cents the past month to $4.15 for a gallon of unleaded regular. That price is up 16 cents in the past week.

Why have gasoline prices risen so sharply? Is it seasonal? Is it supply and demand? Is it manufactured? Here's one blogger's opinion. Give us your thoughts in the comments section.

The cheapest price in CV is normally either of the Quik Stop stations (Grove Way or Lake Chabot Road).

Try using Valero. Valero ususally has the least expensive price for gasoline. Do not use Chevron. Chevron is the most expensive.

CV prices are generally lower than other nearby cities. I also go to Costco when it's convenient.

or if you're heading up to Dublin, stop at Safeway and take advantage of the discount you've probably accrued over the past several visits.
