What You May Not Know About Patch's Newsletter

It's auto-generated by our software. No one actually "writes" it.

Patch is such a new concept that it makes sense every now and then to explain some of its behind-the-scene workings.

Take our newsletter, for example. No one actually "writes" it. Our software automatically compiles it from the news and opinion posts of the previous 24 hours. The cycle is from 6:03 a.m. to 6:03 a.m.

The "Things to Do" section in the second half of the newsletter comes from reader-entered information in our Events calendar.

Unfortunately, blog posts are not included at this point in time. I assume that's because hosted blogs are a new feature in Patch. Eventually, I suspect the software will be updated to include new blog posts, too.
