Loni Hancock, D-Berkeley: Hancock sat down to discuss Richmond’s Chevron refinery fire, one year later, with New America Media. She also talked about how her bill, SB 691, which would raise penalty fines for similar events going forward.

Mark DeSaulnier, D-Concord: DeSaulnier was quoted in this Bloomberg story calling construction of the new Bay Bridge a “failure of management.” The bridge is running nine years late and more than $5 billion over budget.

Ellen Corbett, D-San Leandro: Corbett is facing opposition from medical marijuana supporters for her proposed bill banning e-cigarettes. According to California NORML, which advocates for marijuana law reform, the e-cigarettes help medical marijuana smokers by “reducing exposure to harmful smoke toxins while at the same time posing no second-hand smoke hazard to the public.”
