This Week: Hear Clarinets, Meet a Fairytale Cat and Blend Ballet with Yoga

1. Sole Sisters Invite You to an A's Game

Help the Sole Sisters raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by buying a ticket to the April 16 Oakland A’s game against Detroit. Order your lower box seat ticket through the Sole Sisters/Team in Training and a portion of your ticket will be donated to the society. Tickets are $28 each, and Tuesday, March 29, is the last day to order.

2. Hear Clarinets, Trumpets and Paul Simon at Free Concert

The Castro Valley Community Band Spring Concert is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Listen as the band plays movie classics and a Paul Simon medley, with special numbers for clarinets and trumpets. The free concert will be held at , 19501 Redwood Rd.

3. Get Fit with Ballet and Yoga

Head to , 3553 Castro Valley Blvd., on Wednesday, March 30, for , a body sculpting class that incorporates work on a ballet bar as well as light weights, gliders and yoga postures. The class is scheduled weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Check out the website for pricing information.

4. Bring Children to Meet a Fairytale Cat

Buy tickets for one of the April 4 performances of Puss in Boots, a fairytale about the adventures of a particularly clever cat. The play, performed by the California Theatre Center, is aimed at children in kindergarten to fifth grade. Shows are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the , 19501 Redwood Rd.

5. Give Blood 'Gladly'

The American Red Cross will be holding another blood drive on Friday, April 1, at Glad Tidings Church, 27689 Tyrrell Ave. in Hayward, from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The drive is open to the public. Just look for the American Red Cross bus.
