San Lorenzo Teen Makes Final 17 on 'The X Factor'

"The X Factor" judge, Paula Abdul, selected Ellona Santiago and her group, inTENsity, to move onto the show's next round.

For 14-year-old San Lorenzo teen Ellona Santiago, "The X Factor" television singing competition is starting to get intense.

She, along with her group, inTENsity, moves onto the show's next round.

The group's mentor and show judge, Paula Abdul, made the announcement to inTENsity during Tuesday night's show. [See video clip]

"I saw ten personalities, ten different talents," said Abdul after the group performed during the "judges' houses" round.

They will compete against 16 other contestants in the "live show" round starting Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Abdul will continue coaching inTENsity on "what to sing, what to wear and how to own the stage," according to the show's website.

Though the judges critique each live performance, viewers' votes ultimately decide which acts will be eliminated and which will continue on with the competition.

The last act remaining will win the largest prize in television history: $5 million and a recording contract.

The "live show" round begins Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. on FOX.
