San Lorenzo Patch Turns 1 Today

On Oct. 12 last year, the online news and information site was born.

It seems like only yesterday, San Lorenzo Patch launched its first batch of stories.

Since going live Oct. 12, 2010, the online news and information site has published 1670 articles ranging from local crime to community events.

Though I may not be the , I have been with San Lorenzo Patch since the very start — first as a freelance reporter and now as the second Local Editor.

San Lorenzo has always held a special place in my heart. I grew up not too far from here, in the neighboring unincorporated area of Castro Valley. However, I would often venture into The Village to visit relatives.

From picking up a few moves from the to seeing the , I have met some truly amazing people from San Lorenzo, Ashland and Cherryland this past year.

The site is just as much yours as it is theirs and mine. San Lorenzo Patch is our community hub for news, information and events.

Thank you for all the support — from all those who contribute, read, comment, upload events and announcements, blog and interact with me and each other on Facebook and Twitter.

Don't be shy to say "hi" if you see me around town and feel free to shoot me an e-mail at analisa.harangozo@patch.com or a call/text at 510-207-8818.

Here's to another great year and many more to come!
