According to the National Weather Service, the San Francisco Bay Area is expected to cool down today with rain forecast for late tonight, continuing through Monday and possibly beyond.
Says the weather service, "Periods of rain and mountain snow will continue in the Pacific Northwest through Sunday as a cold front moves across the region. Winter Storm Watches are now in effect for the Northern Sierra Mountains for Monday as a strong storm brings the first snows of the season. Coastal locations in California will receive their first significant rainfall event as this storm moves inland on Monday."
The forecast for Castro Valley and San Lorenzo means area residents may find themselves turning on their heaters for the first time this season and heading out to replace their worn windshield wipers today in lieu of washing their car.
Residents may also want to sweep up the leaves near storm drains in their neighborhood and check their home's rain gutters today in preparation for rainy weather ahead.
