Power Restored to Thousands in Early Morning Outage

Close to 3,000 customers in San Lorenzo and Hayward lost their power at 1:30 a.m.

Power has been restored in Hayward and San Lorenzo following a solo-car crash into a power pole this morning, which cut power to more than 2,800 customers, a PG&E spokesman said.

The outage was first reported at 1:31 a.m. when the car hit a pole in the area of Penny Lane and Hesperian Boulevard in Hayward, PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said. I

nitially, 2,830 customers in San Lorenzo and Hayward lost power, Guidi said.

All but about 300 customers had power restored by 4 a.m., and the remainder had their power back by 9:15 a.m., when repairs were completed, PG&E spokesman Jason King said.
