SPRING CLEANING AT HISTORIC HOUSE
Where/When: McConaghy House in Hayward; Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Take your kids to experience house cleaning in 1880s style! Activities include rug beating, hand-washing laundry and feather dusting at this historic site.
Pricing: $5 for adults; $3 for seniors/students; free for children under 10
Where/When: Sun Gallery in Hayward; Saturday, April 9, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Take advantage of this unique art class for ages 5 to adult. You and your family will be lead by an art educator who will have a project that both kids and adults can work on together or separately.
Pricing: Free, but donations are always appreciated.
Where/When: Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center; Sundays, April 10 and 17, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why Go: Learn how to reduce your impact on the environment while celebrating Earth Day. During the first class, make sheets of recycled paper out of used paper scraps and lint. Then, during the next class, decorate our sheets and turn them into one of a kind Earth Day cards.
