Give Blood and You Could Get a Month's Rent or Mortgage Paid
The American Red Cross, which relies on volunteer blood donors to ensure patient needs are met, is holding a special promotion to raise awareness and show appreciation for those who donate blood.
The Northern California blood services region has organized "Home Is Where The Heart Is" during the month of April. Anyone who donates blood at one of the region's five blood donation centers between now and April 30 is eligible to enter a drawing to win one month's rent or mortgage (up to $2,000) paid for by the Red Cross.
High school and college blood drives are not participating in the promotion.
Blood donor eligibility involves minimum age, weight and health requirements, and presentation of a donor card or photo identification upon donation. Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or schedule an appointment online.
