With free and bargain-priced activities for children, students, adults and seniors, everyone can get fit in Castro Valley.

Castro Valley groups and businesses have deals on memberships and classes that will help residents stay fit while having fun.

So whether you prefer team sports, working out on your own or taking fitness classes, there is something for everyone in Castro Valley.

This week, Patch scoured our local sources to come up with great ways for families to stay in shape. With free and bargain-priced activities for children, students, adults and seniors, everyone can get fit in Castro Valley.

Deal: Get active and social by showing up for free bocce ball at the Adobe Park Bocce Courts, 20395 San Miguel Ave. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., families, adults and seniors can play bocce ball together whether they are amateurs or experts.

The Fine Print: This is not a league. There are no memberships and no dues.

Deal: The Yoga Company, 3553 Castro Valley Blvd., offers morning Yoga – Moon Salutation weekly on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The drop-in fee per class is $15, but come with a valid student ID and receive $10 off the drop-in price. The discount works on other yoga classes as well.

The Fine Print: Must have a valid student ID and be under the age of 25.

Deal: Get one free week of workouts at Curves, 20273 Patio Dr. Curves is open Monday through Saturday and offers workout equipment such as elliptical, bicycles, treadmills and strength machines.

Deal: Martial Arts America is offering a free month of karate classes as well as a free karate uniform as part of its 2011 New Year special.

The Fine Print: Must register online and provide a valid e-mail address and telephone number. Classes are meant for children.
