Where/When: Casa Peralta in San Leandro; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go: Take a tour of San Leandro's historic house museum. Volunteer docents lead visitors on free tours of the historic Casa Peralta house and grounds.

Where/When: Alameda County Fair Grounds; Friday, noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: The event features the latest products in home and garden, including skylights, carpet, tile, kitchen and bath renovations, landscaping and more. The first 300 paid admissions each day will receive a free flowering plant, courtesy of Alden Lane Nursery.

Where/When: John O'Lague Galleria in Hayward City Hall; Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Check out the opening reception showcasing the work of pop art icon Corita Kent. The event will include the film The Story of Corita at 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
Pricing: Free
Where/When: First Covenant Church in Oakland; Saturday at 4 p.m.
Why Go: Great food for a great cause. The event benefits the Redwood Christian Schools athletics programs.
Pricing: $40 for adults; $30 for children 12 and under
Where/When: San Leandro Marina; Saturday from 5:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Why Go: Participants can fish all waters of the San Francisco Bay and Delta and compete to win prizes for the longest legal fish.
Pricing: $25; Entry fees must be paid in cash and received by 5 p.m. on Friday.
