Gas Prices Creeping Back Up But CV's Still Among the Lowest

This is the second straight week gas prices have inched up at the pumps after falling throughout the month of June.

Penny by penny, gasoline prices continue their slow, midsummer rise back toward where they were in late spring.

In the East Bay, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.80, according to a California State Automobile Association website.

That's three cents more than they were a week ago. However, it's still 10 cents lower than they were a month ago.

If you want the cheapest gas around, you could drive to Concord. That town has the three lowest priced stations in the East Bay, according to gasbuddy.com. All three are listed as selling unleaded regular for $3.59 a gallon.

The Costco stores in San Leandro and Livermore both are listing as selling regular unleaded for $3.63 a gallon.

The highest priced gas in the East Bay is in Oakland. Eight of the top nine stations on the gasbuddy site are in that city. Two of them have unleaded regular for more than $4 a gallon.
