BART Patrons Get a Parking Reprieve at Dublin/Pleasanton Station

Parking spaces that were supposed to disappear today at Dublin/Pleasanton station will remain available until Sept. 1

People using the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station will have plenty of parking for at least four more months.

BART officials said Avalon Bay Communities Inc. has delayed the closing of the station's north parking lot until Sept. 1.

Company officials originally said the 800-space lot would be closed to BART patrons April 1.

Avalon Bay, which owns a residential development across the street, plans to develop the land on which the parking lot sits.

That means there is plenty of BART parking in the Tri-Valley area.

The West Dublin/Pleasanton station, which opened in mid-February, has 1,200 parking spaces. The Dublin/Pleasanton station has the 800-space lot as well as a parking garage that will remain open after Sept. 1.
