Personally, I was a little iffy about going on the senior picnic, but I'm glad I did. Senior Picnic is an annual trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with the senior class. (Go Class of 2013!)
After taking an hour and a half making sure all the buses and everything was situated, we headed over to Santa Cruz. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, especially all the trees on our way there. Almost the whole ride there, the sun followed us. Although as we got closer to Santa Cruz, the sun hid behind the clouds and left us all freezing.
First, we were told that we had unlimited arcade games until 1 o'clock. That was a pretty cool experience. Imagine going into an arcade and not having to worry about how many tokens you need to play a game.
After, we lined up to eat a buffet-style lunch of hotdogs, cheesburgers, salad, pasta salad, and more. It was delicious and from there we went off to do our own activities.
That's what I like about it. No matter who you are or what group of friends you have, there really is something for everyone. Whether it's just hanging out by the beach, riding all the rides, playing in the arcade, or trying all the interesting food, it's impossible not to have fun in Santa Cruz.
We were given unlimited rides passes, and we occupied most of the boardwalk. I can honestly say that every time I turned my head, there was a Castro Valley High student. Face painting was another favorite, even some staff of our high school got their faces completely painted.
So if you're going to be a senior, I highly recommend you go to your senior picnic. It's a great way to connect with you class, and it's an amazing way to start off the school year.
Our school has about 3,000 or more people, it's impossible to know everyone. I met some new people that day, and I just love the class spirit we brought to the boardwalk.
Experiences like this, , and homecoming truly unite us.
