CVSan Recycles Day Report
CVSan presented its 13th free CVSan Recycles Day event on August 10th. Within the course of 6½ hours, 1,403 CVSan residents and businesses showed their spirit as responsible consumers by participating in the Recycle event.
6,286 linear feet of tubular bulbs and 1,778 compact fluorescent bulbs were collected. This is an increase of 349 or 24.4% compact bulbs.
Participants recycled 23,174 pounds of e-waste, 6,286 linear feet of fluorescent tubular bulbs and 1,778 compact fluorescent bulbs, 6,860 pounds of household batteries, 1,250 gallons of latex paint including paint cans, 310 residents brought 502.1 pounds of non-controlled substances, and 13.8 pounds of controlled substances.

4,140 1-cubic foot bags of compost (made from curbside organics) and 400 used oil recycling kits were distributed to event attendees.
The pharmaceuticals collected from this event were safely and properly disposed of.
