CVSan Earth Day Donations to Jenny Lin Foundation and Friends of San Lorenzo Creek

Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) hosted its 11th annual Earth Day Clean-Up event in April 2013.  For the second year in a row, CVSan provided each volunteer an opportunity to select 1 of 5 local charities to receive $5.00 on their behalf in lieu of receiving an event t-shirt.  CVSan is proudly donating a total of $2,585.00 to local charity groups based on each volunteer’s selection. 

The Jenny Lin Foundation President, John Lin, and wife, Mei-Lian Lin, attended CVSan’s October board meeting and were presented with a donation of $530.00.  Friends of San Lorenzo Creek Director, Bruce King, along with members Roxann Lewis and Des Patton, were presented with a donation of $195.00.  All recipients thanked CVSan for the generous donations.

The Jenny Lin Foundation and Friends of San Lorenzo Creek were two of the charitable organizations selected to participate.  The Jenny Lin Foundation promotes child safety and youth music education.  The Foundation sponsors many music and safety events that benefit the East Bay community such as a free youth music camp.  Friends of San Lorenzo Creek promote preservation, protection, and awareness of creeks in the San Lorenzo Creek watershed.  Friends of San Lorenzo Creek advocate for creek restoration projects and co-sponsors events such as the school creek-art contest.
