Protest to support efforts to organize a company that has been non-union for 50 years.
Here's a development that could stir up the labor front.
Workers at about a dozen Walmart stores in Southern California have staged a walkout, the first strike in the company's 50-year-history, to support their efforts to organize a union, according to published reports.
The walkout is being organized by a group called OUR Walmart, an employee organization which is backed by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, reports Salon Magazine.
What do you think of this organizing effort? Could it spread? Or is it doomed? What would you like to see happen?
