Sprouts & Shutters: A Tale of Two Hair Salons

The Hesperian Boulevard shopping corridor in San Lorenzo wins some and loses some. 

The community experienced a win of sorts not long ago when a new owner took over Shear Illusions hair salon at 18300 Hesperian – preserving a service that might not have lasted.

But just next store the owner of Lorenzo Manor Barbershop called it quits after 38 years, owing to rising rents, and took his clippers and clients to Richie’s Barber Shop at 1377 East 14th Street in downtown San Leandro.
