Ribbon Cuttings Welcome Worley's Home Design Center and Carmen Laines Cosmetics to Community

The Castro Valley/Eden Area Chamber of Commerce is throwing the Castro Valley and San Lorenzo businesses ribbon cuttings this month.

Though they've been open at their current locations for over a year now, two local businesses never received ribbon cuttings.

The Castro Valley/Eden Area Chamber of Commerce is taking out the giant scissors and celebrating the following businesses' presence in the community:

Tuesday, March 20 at 12 p.m.

Open for a-year-and-a-half at 756 Bockman Rd., owner and esthetician Carmen Laines offers a salon and spa that specializes in manis, padis, hair care and treatment. From makeup to fragrances, Laines also provides a wide selection of cosmetic and skincare products fit for all your beauty needs.

Wednesday, March 28 at 12 p.m.

The showroom has enjoyed its new location at 2751 Castro Valley Boulevard in September 2010. Worley's has been Castro Valley's "one stop decorating shop" for more than two decades. From cabinetry and flooring to window treatments and upholstery, Worley's specializes a wide variety of home needs. Light refreshments will be served at the ribbon cutting as well as tours of the facility.

Another problem: When notified of a reply to a comment I could click the link in the email to go toRead More the article. That was not possible this time. So because a small minority zooms there computer the layout should be as it is? I don't think so. All that white space means that an article that could be read with just one or two clicks to scroll through is now going to take more scrolling to view. One thing that seems to be missing in today's world are web designers who (1) change the layout just because and (2) web designers who have neglected to consider the audience. The more I look at this layout the less I like it. The font needs to be darker than it is. the blue (like in "announcements") needs to be bolder. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 best), I rank the new "improved" design a 3.
