Digger’s Diner recently started serving hamburgers, hotdogs, milkshakes and other American fare at the food court at Bayfair Center.
It was so named "because original owner, Digger Dave, worked as a graveyard digger before going into the restaurant business," according to a food review in Concord Patch, the city where the chain got started 18 years ago.
"Digger's Diner may well serve the best burger you will find in Concord or anywhere else, for that matter," the review said. "With names like the Coffin, the Stubb and the Crypt, the burgers are huge and delicious."
Castro Valley residents selected Val's Burgers as the best joint around according to the Patch 2012 Reader's Choice Awards.
Meanwhile, Bayfair Center anticipates the opening of another new food court eatery, Pizza-cademy, before the end of the year.
