Holy Smokes, Batman—It's National Comic Book Day 2012!

Whether you love Spiderman, X-men or Batman, this is your holiday.

To all of those who believe in Harvey Dent and Gotham City, rejoice.

Sept. 25 is National Comic Book day. This is a day for people of all ages to enjoy, since the first-ever comic book superhero made his first appearance in 1938. While some characters have new looks, and some of their storylines have changed completely, comic enthusiasts can still share their love of their favorite characters, old and new.

This geeky holiday is a great time for comic fans to honor their favorite characters or visit their favorite stores..

After 13 years in north San Leandro, The Comic Shop has moved to a larger store on the south side of town, at 699 Lewelling Boulevard in the Greenhouse Marketplace next to Papa Murphy's Pizza.

And in Castro Valley it's always possible to get your superhero fix at Crush Comics at 2869 Castro Valley Boulevard.

TELL US: Where do you go for comic books? Who is your favorite comic book character? Upload photos of your personal comic book collection.
