Although Macy's, Kohl's and Old Navy all opened at midnight at San Leandro's Bay Fair Shopping Center,  was the top choice for Black Friday shoppers on Thursday.

No tents were pitched but plenty of people from bundled up with blankets. Many came prepared for a long night ahead with fold-out chairs and snacks.

By 10 p.m., about 100 people stood in a line that snaked around the side of the building.

San Leandro couple Cystal and Jesse Martinez were the first in line starting at 3 p.m. They, along with several other shoppers, had their hearts set one of the biggest door-buster deals: a 46 inch television costing $300 — almost half of what it regularly costs.
