One Injured in Crash at I-580, I-238 Castro Valley Interchange

Lanes opened at about 9:40 a.m.

Bay City News — One person suffered major injuries in a three-car crash this morning at the split between Interstate Highways 238 and 580 in Castro Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash initially blocked three lanes of southbound I-238 and two lanes of westbound I-580, prompting the CHP to issue a Sig-alert at 8:20 a.m.

The accident caused a heavy traffic backup, but all lanes reopened at about 9:40 a.m.
