Jack-Knifed Big Rig Causes Traffic Delays Along Highway 880

No one was injured in the accident, but CHP said the big-rig's fuel tanks were damaged and leaked diesel onto the road.

A jackknifed big-rig that was blocking part of northbound Interstate Highway 880 near Hayward this afternoon has been cleared, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The truck crashed just south of the state Highway 238 interchange a few minutes after noon, CHP Officer Scott Cakebread said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 12:22 p.m. and remained in effect until about 2:50 p.m. when the road reopened, Cakebread said.
