Castro Valley Pride

The end of Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act have brought a renewed sense of optimism and spirit to the LGBT community. It’s time to celebrate our relationships and families even as we continue to work toward full federal equality.

The Castro Valley Pride team is bringing in 40 booths this year (including a number of area churches who would be happy to marry gay & lesbian couples), compelling speakers, wonderful musical & dramatic performers, dozens of community and special interest groups as well as food trucks!

 “We think it’s important for our friends and neighors to understand that our families are the same as theirs, and that we live right alongside them in Castro Valley and many other small East Bay communities. We shop at the same stores, our kids go to the same schools, and we share the same visions and values that all small town Americans have.” said Billy Bradford of Marriage Equality USA and GetEqual.
