"All of you gelled really well," she said after they finished.

Pharell referred to the group as a "cookie," saying he saw "some really good star morsels in there."

During a post-performance interview, Santiago said she was confident that their act was enough to get them into the next round — "the live show."

In the previous bootcamp round, Santiago, along with the nine other solo artists in her group, initially didn't make the cut.

However, judge Simon Cowell called these contestants back on stage and grouped them together, giving them a second chance to compete in the groups category.

The 32 finalists, which consists of eight groups, eight girls, eight boys and eight over-30 contestants are competing for one of 16 spots in the next round. The overall winner of the competition will receive $5 million dollars and a recording contract — one of the largest prizes given in television history.

In the "live show round," the judges will coach the remaining 16 acts individually — from which songs to sing and clothes to wear to how to take over the stage. The judges will then critique the live acts during the following weeks, but it will be the show's viewers who ultimately decide the winner based on votes.
