Maestro Lends Helping Hand to Arts Foundation Fundraiser

Event at Woodside estate will feature music, wine, and hors d'oeuvres

From an announcement posted by the Castro Valley Arts Foundation -

"An Afternoon in the Country" is the theme of a June 10 fundraiser for the Castro Valley Arts Foundation to be held in Woodside from 2 to 4 p.m.

The community is invited to join foundation members for an afternoon of wine, hors d'oeuvres and music with Maestro Michael Morgan musicians Michelle Kwon, cello; Richardo Garcia, tenor and Glen Deardorff, guitar at an elegant Woodside estate.

Tickets to the event are $75 per person.

"The home (where the event is being held) was originally built as a summer retreat in 1932. The first owner scavenged stained glass, a fireplace, light fixtures, big timbers, and even old bricks from the recently demolished 1884 Flood mansion. He created a grand yet inviting country home, full of quirky and historic details, and hired Thomas Church to design the gardens.," say event organizers, "The current owners have lovingly restored and enhanced this unique landmark, reconnecting this house to Woodside’s glamorous history as an elegant yet rural summer destination."
