JEFF BEAL (CVHS ’81) is one of the most prolific and respected composers working in film and television today (Monk, Ugly Betty, Rome (HBO), Carnivale (HBO), Jessie Stone, etc.).   Since his first Emmy in 2001, Beal has garnered 11 Emmy nominations and has 4 Emmy’s sitting on his mantle! Jeff returns home to Castro Valley with his trumpet, joining legendary educator and jazz pianist FRANK SUMARES.

Frank Sumares taught music for CVUSD, was Director of Jazz Studies and Instrumental Music for over 25 years at Chabot College, and is currently a professor in the Jazz Studies Program at San Jose State University.   Other East Bay luminaries in the music world such as Steve Coburn, Greg Sudmeier, and Geoff Carter are among the many talented local musicians who willl fill out the band for this dazzling concert. All proceeds will benefit needed sound system improvements at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts.
