Love Music? Play Music? -- Castro Valley Community Band, Chamber Orchestra, and Swing Band

If you love music and play an instrument, join one of our three great community music organizations -- the Castro Valley Community Band, the Castro Valley Chamber Orchestra, and the Castro Valley Swing Band.

Community Band: This traditional concert band performs at least four concerts per year and is the featured band for the annual Rowell Ranch Parade (seated, not marching!). The band performs classical music as well as marches, show tunes, and pops. Intermediate and advanced players welcome. www.CastroValleyBand.com

Chamber Orchestra: The Chamber Orchestra performs three concerts each year, and does outreach to foster a love of music among school-age students and build community support for music. Intermediate to advanced players. Members are chosen by audition and instrument needs for the next performance. www.cvorchestra.org

Swing Band: The Castro Valley Swing Band plays the big band sounds of the 1930s and 40s. The band performs two concerts per year from a musical library of over 300 arrangements. Interested musicians must make an appointment with the director through Castro Valley Adult and Career Education for an interview and/or audition. In addition to musicians, vocalists are welcome to try out. You must be proficient in sight reading.
