Art Forum Showcases Local Artists and Their Work at Castro Valley Library

On Sept. 15, local artists will share with you how they have developed their craft and discuss everything you want to know about the visual arts.

medium, styles and techniques, and what background or studies help them find their artistic calling?

Well, wonder no more. A.R.T., Inc., is sponsoring an open art forum at the on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Local artists Susan Bass (acrylics and non representational), Jean Bidwell (watercolors, pastels, realism), Ray Mcginnis (oil photo realism to surrealism) and Bill Sala (oil and surrealism) will share with you how they have developed their craft and discuss everything you want to know about the visual arts.

Castro Valley artist Carol Brown will be part of “Wild and Mild,” a show at
the Cinema Place Gallery in Hayward. The exhibit runs Sept. 13 to Oct. 27, with the reception, Thursday, Sept. 26, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“Contrast of Nature” is the next exhibit at the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive
Center where artists Michael Belew and Stanley Stadelman will delight visitors with a variety of watercolors and photography pieces from Saturday, Sept. 22 through November. An artist reception will be on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hayward Shoreline.

A.R.T., Inc. venues continue presenting free exhibits Bev Lindsay at Bank of the
West Sept through Dec, Quilts by Pat Bailey and Niambi Kee at Baywood Retirement Community September through October, Annette Lerch at Baywood Health Center through September, Marge Atkins at the Castro Valley Library through Sept. 1, Ellen Bailey and Rajnish Khanna at Dino’s Restaurant through September , Larry White at through November, Bev Lindsay at Gladding Gallery, October through December.

Hope you are enjoying the warm weather but before it ends HARD will be
sponsoring a Swap Meet at the Adobe Art Center on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 pm. Spaces are available for $10, $15. the day of the event. This is a free public fundraiser to benefit the youth.

Coming in the fall, the Adobe Art Gallery presents its 35th Area Artists' Annual
Juried Exhibit. A non-refundable entry fee of $25. for up to two pieces is payable at the time of entry. Entry forms are available at www.adobegallery.org.

Artwork will be accepted Thursday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 29. Exhibit will run from Saturday, Oct. 20 through Dec. 1.
